CIRCB Staff Working Conditions Examined

President of the Management Committee of the Chantal Biya International Reference Centre for Research on Prevention and Management of HIV/AIDS (CIRCB), in Yaounde, Jean Stéphane Biatcha has revealed that henceforth the working conditions of the administrative and research staff of the Centre will witness an improvement. He made the statement while speaking to the press after an extraordinary session of the Management Committee of the research Centre. The session was chaired by the President of the Management Committee, Jean Stéphane Biatcha.

            Speaking to the press after three-hours of closed discussions, Jean Stéphane Biatcha said the session was based on staff issues with focus on what should be done to improve their working conditions. Without going into details on what the Management Committee decided about the status and working conditions of staff at CIRCB, Jean Stéphane Biatcha told the press that in the days ahead, life will become better for CIRCB staff. According to the President of the Management Committee, decisions taken will be further examined during an upcoming budgetary session of the Board which is already being prepared.

            Worthy to note that the Chantal Biya International Research Centre on HIV/AIDS was inaugurated on February 23, 2006 with an ambition of finding a treatment for HIV/AIDS. Efforts and results attained so far from the research Centre on HIV/AIDS and treatment are said to be promising.

            The Director of the Centre, Professor Alexis Ndjolo once said finding an HIV Vaccine remains a big challenge which means making a breakthrough may not necessarily be anytime soon although researchers at the Centre are working in that direction. In the meantime, the Centre remains dedicated to improving the quality of care and services offered to persons living with HIV/AIDS as well as those affected by the virus.
